Two more from camping last week.
Susan: "Where are we going to get more wood?" Points in the general direction of the desert. Caden: "Trees?"
Danny: "Why won't you hang out with your grandpa?" Caden: "Because you don't do anything stupid!"

Yeah okay lol.
Kyries I based on the Valkyries, hence the name Kyries. I was too lazy to make one up on the spot. They control Life and Death. They touch someone, no matter who or what, and kill them instantly. They can also bring someone/thing newly dead back to life.
Cadrals cause intense pain and suffering (like the Legend of the Seeker Mord-Sith) and can be used as torture devices. They can also kill by bursting the blood vessels of their victims.
The Void is a deep, dark chasm that leads (allegedly) to the Underworld.
The Black Keep is the Underworld, where the dead go.
The Black Keeper rules the Underworld.
Anything else?

Settling in good. My family rocks. I have a brother, Caden, who's about my brother's age (nearly 16) and he's sooo like my brother in sooo many ways. And my sister Amanda is a month and a half older than me so we have alot in common.

Just a snippet of something I'm trying to work on, and failing. Haha.
The paint was scarcely wet on his shield, yet his corpse lay gently mouldering beneath the snow, his open eyes and horrified expression attesting to the violent nature of his death. The skin on his neck was blackened, and it was this that the woman touched. She wore a smirk that made her sharply beautiful face somehow ugly beyond all measure. Her red dress was the same colour as the boy's blood, which stained the snow around him having burst from his blood vessels in one horrific wave at the moment of his death. So she murmured softly to herself, I am not the last after all. She straightened, kicking snow over the dead man's face. A pity, to kill someone so young. She imagined how excited he had been to be knighted at last, after four years of pagedom and a further four as a squire. In her mind's eyes she could see his proud parents watching, mayhap his mother cried, humans tended to do that alot in emotional situations. Then she watched him receive his first orders, a post on the brink of the Void, one of the most dangerous places in the Three Kingdoms. Her lips quirked as she saw his chin set determindedly, his chest swell with pride, his voice ringing through the chamber as he accepted his mission. Of course, no-one lasted long on the Void. If they weren't killed by an ethereal creature they threw themselves off the precipice out of madness. It made her curious to think one of her Sisters had killed him, for sure the gory nature of his death was synonymous with a Cadral. No other creature could spill blood in quite the same fashion. But Cadrals were as rare as owls in the daytime around here. Three score years ago most had been killed by those infernal Kyries, the minions of the Underworld who controlled Life and Death. They dwelled at the bottom of the Void, if that gaping black maw had a bottom. Some said it went on eternally, at that the Kyries rode their flying steeds constantly in order to stay close to the surface. She snorted. Kyries were the least of her problems right now. She thought she was the last one left, since her mother had joined her Sisters in the Black Keep. But just by looking around at the carnage of dead men and horses in this tiny gully, she knew another, more powerful, Sister was still breathing. She had to find her, and destroy her, before she herself was killed. Without a glance back at the corpses she swept away up the narrow incline to the rocky entrance of the gully. If this was truly the doing of a Cadral she would have left a message. It took Scara scant seconds to find it, written in blood high on the side of the cliff. Mortals and Creatures alike, bewarned. I stalk this earth now. I shant be swayed from the task I was given by the Black Keeper himself. I must finish the quest the Kyries were set three score and four years ago. All Cadrals must die. Those who stand in my way shall suffer the same fate. Leave me be and I shall spare your life. Attempt to cross me or pervert my duty and I shall destroy you in a heartbeat. You have been forewarned. Cahlae.
The trail was still warm from the daytime heat. Snow was scant here, only surviving in isolated pockets shy of the sun. The hem of her black dress made nary a sound on the smooth rocks as she crossed the ledge to the sheltered cave behind it. Sharp green eyes delved into the depths of the darkness, seeking lifeforms before she entered. It would not do to survive an ambush of thirty men only to fall prey to something less sinister like a mountain lion. She detected nothing and, with a sigh, settled herself against the side of the cliff and closed her eyes. It had been a long first day in the Land of the Living. Everything was so strange compared to the gardens of the Black Keep, where the dead were sent.
And that's all I got. Please comment ^^
