Definitely, even some of the subjects that are "useless" like physics, chem and philosophy, i think are VERY important because they teach you to THINK! although some of the classes where you don't need to think, are pretty important i guess, like history (stiiill hate it though)

Janeway, I really hope your joking when you say people can just strip or sing for a living. First of all, not everyone can do those things. Second it won't get you much money. You really need an education to get a decent job, not because you need to know the stuff they teach you, but because no one will hire you. That's really immature if you really think that way.
I know you were probably joking but I had to say something.

I doubt anyone would do the stripping for a living because once you get old or whatever, they move to the next thing. But I think you can do fine with the singing or acting thing. All you really need is the talent. Sorry if I offended you, but thats just how I feel.

You didn't offend me, it just seems like a dumb idea. Yes if you have the talent you could make it as a musician or actor. But so few people who have the talent make it. In that career you have to be in the right place at the right time. Just because you're good enough doesn't mean you can just decide to make a career from it, which is why you need an education. With an education, if your dreams don't work out (which they usually don't) you won't so much trouble making money.

Careers with talent can very well work if the jobs aren't asking about your past education...
It's basically not enough anymore to show you have talent, you have to have some collage proffessor sign you off as talent...
Can't do much anymore without education. Which is sad for someone who doesn't feel like wasting 16% of their life absorbing knowledge that will never be used... because they think performance in a classroom automatically reflects work ethic. How the hell is PE preparing me for my computer career?
