At my school, it is a requirement to have at least 50 hours of service learning (a fancy word they for community service) in order to graduate. I think that its unfair. Service learning is great and all for many reasons, but its to time consuming and sometimes you have to do to much in order to get your hour. Some teachers though will let you do a little for a lot, but depending on what you do and who you do it for, you may have to bust your ass and only get one damn hour. I just don't think it should be a requirement to graduate. It's stupid, and time consuming and I don't think it really does make someone a "better person". What do you guys think?

I think it's a good idea. 50 hours is way too much though!! But I think it's good that at least in the US some spoiled rich kids will have to work ONE day in their lives unlike the idiots in my class xD and most of the time it's for good causes that nobody would do otherwise, like my cousin had to save some seagulls who were dying because of a boat full of petrol which had sunk. I find the idea pretty good!

I find the idea pretty good! I agree with the 50 hours. But they beleive that you can easily get it done in your 4 years (sometimes 5) of high school. But I don't think they take into account that people have lives and that you may not always have the time for that s***. I miss when it only about 20 or so, but anyways. I do see your point. We have tons of rich kids at my school. I still find it useless though.
