On October 20th, 2020, Patrick Clinger, the president and CEO of ProBoards created a thread on ProBoards Support informing everyone that the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected ProBoards daily operations and revenue. I will link his post from ProBoards Support below. In his post, Patrick clearly states,
Our forums are not going anywhere. We are not shutting down, nor does this have any direct impact to any of our users, but it does affect our day-to-day operations for our team members.
I can't speak for everyone here, but from my personal experience at my previous job, a similar statement was issued to us, and yet, the pandemic forced a major restructuring within the company that cost me my job a second time. It's simply a fact that companies cannot adequately function if profits are not coming in. Even though Patrick has stated that ProBoards isn't going anywhere, I seriously would not be surprised if down the road something was to happen to cause them to shut down or restore to some extreme measure to stay afloat. That is why I'm creating this thread to inform everyone in The Misfits Club about this situation and possibly encourage anyone, guest or member, to made a contribution to ensure that ProBoards doesn't go anywhere. You're not forced to do this and you won't be looked down upon if you cannot offer anything.
I also want to say that I would be truly devastated if ProBoards was forced to shut down their servers. The Misfits Club has always been somewhat sluggish in terms of activity, but there has been tremendous memories associated with this community and I would feel the upmost anguish if something was to happen to this place and all the memories were destroyed. My memories associated with Cloud, Rika, and Sheik mean so much to me. IF it wasn't for ProBoards, I never would have met them and have created such memorable bonds.
